Our System

At Triple Crown Auto Glass we use AUTELS Complete Camera Calibration Package. In picking a system we wanted to go with a company that would be able to keep up with our fast paced industry and make sure we had consistent innovation. With a boast of putting a minimum of 20% of profits into product development the choice was clear.

TLDR: Can be done on the road.

Dynamic recalibrations is a method of calibrating the cameras and sensors while the vehicle is in motion and under a variety of circumstances. While the technician drives, they follow steps prompted on the screen, the camera reads the surroundings in these conditions and adjusts accordingly. During the drive the computer system collects data and sends it to the vehicles computers. While possibly more convenient, the capabilities differ depending on environment and weather conditions. While driving a progress bar is filled. This can take different amounts of time and gas usage depending on environment.

TLDR: Must be done at the shop.

Static Recalibrations is a method of calibrating the cameras and sensors while the vehicle is stationary. By the usage of target boards, lasers and cameras, this method is the definition of the future. Often used on vehicles that require a more precise and accurate alignment. During this process the technician uses boards according to the vehicles specification to align the camera to read properly. Due to the nature of this recalibration, it's best done in a controlled environment where the light and ground level has been previously set up. Each vehicle is different and a variety of boards may be used in the process.

Dynamic Recalibration

To begin the technician attaches the portable recalibration tablet up to the vehicle and performs a pre-scan of the vehicle.

01

Once the vehicle is communicating with the portable tablet the technician must drive the vehicle and perform required safety checks through prompts. During these prompts the camera will realign itself. Sometimes this does require things like a double line on the road so it's always good to have a full tank of gas.

02

When the camera has finished realigning itself, it sends a message to the computer showing everything is back to its original state. The technician at this time will perform a post scan to ensure no codes are coming up.

Static Recalibration

To begin the technician attaches a remote reader for the recalibration tablet to the vehicle and performs a pre-scan of any current and past codes associated with the vehicle.

01

Once previous codes have been established the vehicle is aligned using boards and a laser to ensure the vehicle is the required distance and height for proper recalibration. This process is very light sensitive and requires a controlled environment.

02

After the vehicle is aligned, the camera communicates with the computer to realign itself to the target board.

03

When the camera has finished realigning itself it sends a message to the computer showing everything is back to its original state. The technician at this time will perform a post scan to ensure no codes are coming up.
